Yes, Ajay V. Bhatt is his name.

Who is he?

Bhatt born on 6th September 1957, Baroda, Bombay State, India. He is an Indian-American computer architect developed the USB. He completed his graduation from the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, India, Bhatt also received his master’s degree from The City University of New York, United States.

Bhatt joined Intel in 1990 as a senior staff architect on the chipset architecture team in Folsom.

USB technology actually began development in 1994, co-invented by Ajay Bhatt of Intel and the USB-IF (USB Implementers Forum, Inc). But The original USB 1.0 specification was introduced in January 1996 and The organization is comprised of industry leaders like Intel, Microsoft, Compaq, LSI, Apple, and Hewlett-Packard.

Fyi, Indian Invention ‘USB’ (Universal Serial Bus) is used for data(Ex: File, music, videos) transfer. It can also be used to charge devices like Smartphones, Tablets, Batteries, etc.

Ajay Bhatt also helped define and develop several other widely used technologies, like

  •  USB (Universal Serial Bus),
  •  AGP (Accelerated Graphics Port),
  •  PCI Express, Platform Power management architecture and various chipset improvements.

He received an Achievement in Excellence Award for his contribution in PCI Express specification development in 2002

In April 2013 he was awarded the Outstanding Achievement in Science & Technology Award at The Asian Awards in London.

Also, the 2013 winner of the European Inventor Award in the Non-European countries category, awarded by the European Patent Office.
